Bio

Roy G and the Biv are a multi-instrumentalist electronic pop duo from Denton, TX. Consisting of Drew Erickson and Max Townsley, the two both met when they were in high school (Townsley at Booker T. and Erickson in Colleyville). They’ve always wanted to start a band together, but got serious about it a year ago when Erickson was home from Boston for spring break.

In the summer of 2008, they self recorded and released a 5 song self-titled EP, which immediately saw attention from bloggers and reviewers from all over the world. “We work really fast together,” Singer Max Townsley said. “We both play drums, piano, guitar and bass, so no one is assigned to any specific parts when we’re recording.”
Upon release, the tracks ‘Nicotine’ and ‘In my Cards’ were being played in clubs and even featured on MTV Australia’s ‘The Lair’.
The duo interject a myriad of sounds into every track they touch. The beats and vocal effects take cues from classics like Hall and Oates and George Duke as well as modern artists like Timbaland, and Pharrell to name a few. “We have a love for harmony. I just think about it as a balance of unity and
variety. Using motives and orchestration, all those things enrich electronic music.” Drew Erickson said.
