Fictionist’s newest album Lasting Echo, which was release back in March, has recently received some notable press on their Sophomore Effort. In addition, the band has recently released a video for the albums’ single “Blue Eyed Universe”. You can check out the video as well as their recent press below.

“[Fictionist is] big music, with a wall of sound of epic, swirling choruses and bridges that build on one another — think of the way Led Zeppelin builds momentum slowly on “Stairway to Heaven” until it erupts in the final verse, destroying everything in sight.” –Salt Lake Tribune

“Simply put, Fictionist is one of the best bands I’ve ever heard.” -St. George Spectrum

“Lasting Echo has shades of Pink Floyd and Radiohead that immediately capture the imagination.” -Salt Lake City Weekly

“Mellow rock full of melodies and soft vocals. This is a great find if you in the mood for indie rock that wont kill your speakers.”-Melodic.net 3 out of 4 Stars.

“Transitions from pop to indie to folk, all while pensively reveling in ethereal bridges and floating, dream-like meditations.” -Salt Lake Daily Universe

“Tempered rhythm that incorporates a southern sound merged with classic rock influence. ” -The Album Project

“Versatile, interesting and surprising, all at the same time. ” -Carry You Away

“Minimalist. Simple. Superficial. 7.5 out of 10″ -Rhombus Magazine

“Moody, atmospheric rock with dark pop tendencies to create a lush album that gains strength from its balance of relaxed tones and tension” -CD Baby

“A stylized and pseudo-psychedelic journey. 8 out of 10″ -Blue Indian Music

“Downright catchy.” -Two Groove

You can purchase the album on ITunes HERE

Robert Rodriguez, critically acclaimed director of Sin City, Grindhouse and From Dusk Till Dawn found time in between the production of his latest films Machete and Predators to shoot a music video for Austin-based musician Bob Schneider’s new single, “40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet).”

The video, which features actress Kat Dennings (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) in the lead female role playing opposite Bob Schneider is an ironic romantic encounter between two people who represent different lifestyles, described simply as digital and analog.

“I had Bob come over to visit Troublemaker Studios and found out he didn’t have a video for ’40 Dogs’,” said Robert Rodriguez. “I love the song, so I put together an idea and and am very excited with how the video is turning out.”

The video was shot on location in Austin and features many of the city’s points of interests such as Zilker Park, Auditorium Shores, Antone’s Nightclub, Hotel Saint Cecilia and other local dives.

Production is expected to be completed in a couple of weeks. Plans for the video’s release are forthcoming.

“40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet)”has already received more radio airplay than any previous song that Schneider has released, logging over four months in the Top 20 on the Mediabase Triple A Radio chart. The song is currently being promoted on the Hot AC radio format and is in rotation on stations across the country.

Schneider is currently on the road in support of his latest release, Lovely Creatures, and will perform at Rachael Ray’s Feedback Party at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas during South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media Conference on March 20. In addition, Schneider will embark on his first-ever European tour starting in April.

Cream Team is a Chicago based blog, but isn’t limited to the Chicago area. They cover everything from electro-dance pop to Singer Songwriters with indie-like quality
Their knack for finding bands with a unique sound– and true-underground status– sets them apart from the ubiquitous sea of blogs who post press releases from publicists(Not such a bad thing?).

Not only do they take the time to research the artists and songs they cover; but they write interesting and in-depth features on relatively unknown artists that they spend time looking for.
I spend a good amount of time on this blog each week and hope you will too.
